My name is Emran Russell. I started AutomobileBee because I got tired of reading automotive advice written by people who had never held a wrench.
I graduated from Feni Polytechnic Institute with a focus in mechanical engineering. After that I went to work at RalcoRZ Performance, where I spent years sourcing, evaluating, and installing automotive performance parts across a wide range of vehicles. I have pulled engines, diagnosed electrical gremlins at midnight, installed short shifters on cars that tutorials said were straightforward and were not, and advised hundreds of vehicle owners on what their car actually needed versus what a shop was trying to sell them.
That experience is what AutomobileBee is built on.
Why I Built This Site
During my years working in the performance parts industry I noticed the same pattern repeatedly. A car owner would come in confused, having read five different articles that all said different things, none of which seemed to match what was happening with their actual vehicle.
The content online was either too generic to be useful or too technical to be accessible. There was very little in between from someone who had actually done the work being described.
I built AutomobileBee to be that middle ground. Real answers from someone with real hands-on experience, written clearly enough that any car owner can understand and act on them.
Every article on this site is written from direct experience. When I write about diagnosing a startup tick, it is because I have diagnosed startup ticks. When I tell you which brands I trust, it is because I have seen what happens when you trust the wrong ones. When I compare two motor oils, I have run them back to back on a real engine and documented the results.
That is the standard I hold this site to. Not word count, not keyword density. Genuine usefulness to the person reading it.
What You Will Find Here
AutomobileBee covers three main areas.
Hands-on diagnosis and repair guides. Step-by-step guides for common repairs and diagnostic procedures, written for real people with real tools, not idealized workshop conditions. I include the parts that other guides skip, the mistakes I have made, and what I wish someone had told me before I started.
Honest product evaluations. I test and evaluate automotive products with documented results where possible. I name brands I trust and brands I avoid, and I explain exactly why. I do not accept payment to recommend products and I do not change my assessment because a company has an affiliate program.
Model-specific knowledge. Generic automotive advice applies to no vehicle in particular and helps no owner specifically. I write about specific engines, specific model years, and specific known issues because that is the information that actually helps someone who owns that vehicle.
My Background
I hold a certificate in automotive technology from Feni Polytechnic Institute. My professional experience includes several years at RalcoRZ Performance, where my work involved hands-on evaluation and installation of performance automotive components across Japanese, European, and American platforms.
I have personally diagnosed and addressed the following types of issues, among many others:
Valve train noise and startup tick diagnosis. Carbon buildup on direct-injected engine intake valves. Turbocharger seal wear and oil consumption on boosted platforms. Suspension vibration diagnosis including wheel bearing, balance, and tire runout issues. Brake system evaluation and repair across multiple vehicle types. Fuel system diagnosis including injector performance and fuel pump failure patterns. Electrical diagnosis including parasitic drain, alternator failure, and charging system issues.
I do not hold myself out as knowing everything about every vehicle. What I offer is honest assessment based on what I have actually seen and worked on, with transparent acknowledgment of the limits of my experience.
On Honesty and Recommendations
I want to be direct about how this site makes money and how that affects what I write.
AutomobileBee participates in affiliate programs, meaning I earn a small commission when readers purchase products through links on this site. This commission comes at no additional cost to the reader.
My editorial position is that affiliate relationships do not change my assessments. I have recommended against products I have affiliate relationships with when those products did not perform adequately in my experience. I have declined affiliate relationships with brands I do not believe in. The recommendations on this site reflect what I would tell a friend who asked me directly, not what generates the most commission revenue.
If you ever find a recommendation on this site that seems inconsistent with this standard, I want to know about it. You can reach me directly at the contact information below.
A Note on the Content
Every article on AutomobileBee is written by me personally. I do not use content farms, outsourced writers, or unedited AI-generated articles. The voice you read throughout this site is mine. The experience behind the advice is mine.
I update articles when my experience or new information changes my assessment. I correct errors when they are identified. I would rather publish fewer articles that are genuinely useful than many articles that tell you nothing you could not find anywhere else.
If an article on this site helped you diagnose a problem, avoid an unnecessary repair, or make a better decision about your vehicle, that is exactly what I built this for.
Contact and Community
I read every message that comes through the contact form on this site. I cannot always respond immediately, but I do read them and I take reader questions seriously. Several articles on this site were written specifically because readers asked about something I had not covered yet.
If you have a question about your vehicle, a topic you would like me to cover, or feedback about something I got wrong, I want to hear from you.
You can reach me through the contact page at AutomobileBee.com or at the email address listed there.
Thank you for being here. I hope what you find on this site is genuinely useful.
